Our Missions
Mexico
In Mexico, the Lord has called us to work at an orphange called Bethel where we have partnered since 2001. This orphanage has been functioning for over 40 years and hundreds of children have called it ‘home’. Many of these children, as a result of having a Christian staff, have accepted the Lord as their Savior and now that they are all grown up and are involved in different Christian ministries.
We supply food, clothes and meet physical needs but our main focus is providing for their spiritual needs. During our visits, we share the love of Christ with these children who are lacking the love of their own parents and we walk the neighboring streets spreading the Gospel.
Guinea Bissau
Guinea Bissau is considered by many to be the poorest country in Africa. Over 50% of the population is Muslim, so there is a real need to share Jesus. This country is devastated by illicit drugs and human trafficking. It is on the Tier 2 Watch List for its failure to combat severe forms of trafficking in persons, especially children. It has not passed any anti-trafficking laws and is inadequate in its effort to investigate or prosecute trafficking crimes or convict and punish trafficking offenders. The primary purpose for children trafficking is for forced begging and forced agricultural labor to other West African countries.
We are involved in a number of different kinds of work in this country; construction, teaching, training, and evangelism. We completed construction on a village church and have begun construction on a 2nd building which will seat over 150 people. Construction is under way on the Bible School and the project is expected to be finished by the end of 2011. The building for the radio station is complete and we are now putting together the equipment so we can start broadcasting. Then we will start handing out free radios to the locals to tune into the Christian programs. Each radio has the opportunity to reach the unreached in a language that they can understand. It can provide evangelistic teaching as well as consistent training in Christian living to people who cannot afford a radio and minister where there is no electricity or battery power available. For a donation of $45 a fixed channel radio will be purchased and delivered to a family in need of hope that will receive it from Jesus. This radio and batteries also comes with a solar panel and is built to last up to 15 years. We are also involved in training pastors, missionaries, evangelists and teachers through the Mobile Bible School (MBS). It is a six week program completed in a one-year cycle.
Romania
The work in Romania mainly involves ministering to the spiritually and physically impoverished regions of Oltenia and Moldova. God called us in 2000 to start ministering in this country. We have been evangelizing by sending teams and sponsoring native workers ever since. At times we have sent 5 different teams in the same year. Besides evangelism, we are involved with children and youth in organizing summer camps. Because Christianity is viewed as a cult in some of these areas of Romania where we minister, summer camps are the only opportunities we have to reach them with the God’s love-Jesus.
Another need in this country is working with orphans. We are intensively involved in working in four orphanages throughout Romania and have limited work in two other. We also visit widows to lovingly help meet their needs and lend a helping hand to the poor. Additionally, we support a number of missionary families either with finances, Christian literature or physical resources and annually deliver a container to the poorer regions of Romania.
Republic of Moldovia
In 2008 God spoke to us to start working in the Republic of Moldova which is one of the poorest countries in Europe. This is a country that has a lot of corruption and government unstability. Recently, unemployment doubled which has caused even more hardships. Due to the political problems in the summer of 2009 we were not able to send a team out for evangelism. We ended up sending an evangelism team that fall.
As of today, besides evangelism, we are involved in youth and children camps. In the summer of 2010 we were able to hold our second youth and children’s camps. This was done, even though some local officials threatened us and tried everything in their power to stop us. They didn’t realize that their battle was not against us but against our Creator. Obviously our Creator won and we are looking forward to the work ahead in the years to come.
We recently started working with the Russian speaking churches in this country.
India
India is a predominantly Hindu nation where Christians make up only a little more than 2% of the population. As a result, there is a lot of persecution directed towards Christians. On our last visit, we visited a number of believers in the state of Orissa. Besides hearing the many testimonies of how Christians were attacked and tortured by Hindu extremists, we were shocked to find out that there were only a few Bibles left amongst the people of Orissa. This led us to start a Bible Project in order to bring the Word of God to Orissa. For $3, a Bible can be purchased and delivered to a believer in the Oriya language.
Transportation is one of the biggest hindrances in spreading the Gospel to the over 600,000 unreached villages in India. A bicycle, which can be purchased for $60, provides a cheap, efficient means of transportation with little maintenance costs.
Restricted Nations
The work in Restricted Nations consists of working with the ‘underground church’ to spread the Gospel. This requires equipping the church so it can survive through the persecution it faces with the following; Bibles, Christian literature, MP3 players, DVD players, hand held radios, radio transmitters and sponsorship. Visit our PROJECTS section and you can find more information on how to get involved.
Due to the danger and persecution that awaits those that follow Jesus we are limited in the information that we can share of the on-going work in these countries.
